Welcome to the Museum of Goa
The Museum of Goa narrates Goa’s history through contemporary art, democratizing and making it accessible to all.
Our Story
The Museum of Goa (MOG) was conceived in 2015 by artist Dr. Subodh Kerkar. Dr. Kerkar transformed his existing studio into a contemporary art space with the expertise of renowned architect Dean D'Cruz. The lack of cultural spaces in Goa, particularly those dedicated to contemporary art, led Kerkar to envision an institution that would democratise art and make it accessible to a larger audience.
We believe that art is the universal language of mankind and has the power to connect people from all over the world. Apart from taking contemporary art to the larger public, the museum is also a pedagogical experiment in narrating history. The museum is not merely a repository of objects but a laboratory of ideas. In the local language Konkani, MOG means love, representing the museum's commitment to promoting art practice, culture and histories.
Our Vision
Making art accessible and integral to everyone’s life.

MOG Foundation
Mission & Vision
The MOG Foundation, a not-for-profit organization, is dedicated to promoting art education and cultural engagement. The foundation serves underprivileged communities, including children and adults from educational non-profit organizations, governmental schools, orphanages, and persons with disabilities.
The foundation conducts a range of educational programs and community engagement activities focusing on education, advocacy, and skill development. Additionally, the MOG Foundation organizes public engagements, such as the flagship program MOG Sundays, where individuals from diverse backgrounds gather to listen to experts speak on various subjects. These events are open to the public and offer free admission, providing an inclusive platform for knowledge sharing and community interaction.
Through these initiatives, the MOG Foundation endeavors to expose individuals to contemporary art and Goa's cultural heritage, fostering inclusivity and cultural understanding.
