Born and raised in Goa, Subodh Kerkar abandoned his medical career in 1990 to pursue art. His practice spans installations, sculptures, multimedia works, performances, paintings, and drawings, addressing socio-political and religious themes. He is the founding director of the Museum of Goa and holds the Mario Miranda Chair for Arts at Goa University.
