Spiti Through Legend and Lore

An illustrated talk by Kishore Thukral marks the closing of Refuge, Resilience & Rights: The Tibetan Story.

The talk explores a remote valley high in the western Himalayas, bordering Tibet—a landscape rich in fossils and deeply rooted in Buddhist culture, where legend and lore continue to shape everyday life.

Marking the release of the second edition of SPITI through Legend and Lore, the session takes the audience on a journey through the ethereal moonscape of Spiti Valley, discovering its serene villages, mystical monasteries, and the legends and folklore that embellish the tranquil life of its inhabitants.

The talk is followed by a Black Hat Dance performed by monks from Tashi Lhunpo Monastery in Bylakuppe.
