Love Tales

The conversation explores the world of artist Savia Viegas, a storyteller who moves between books, embroidery, and memory. Growing up in the village of Carmona, Savia learns early how small, everyday moments carry powerful stories. Her novels, Let Me Tell You About Quinta and Tales from the Attic, explore themes of family, migration, and the hidden sides of Goan life—the stories that often remain untold.

The discussion focuses on her exhibition, “Love Tales,” where hand-stitched embroidery on upcycled denim brings stories of love, desire, and daily life from Goa’s oral traditions into view. As a fellow storyteller, Leila Badyari guides the conversation, exploring how Savia blends text, image, and craft to give shape to emotions and memories, and how these forms allow community histories—often quietly preserved—to surface in compelling ways.
