A Tribute to Madhav Gadgil
Gadgil speaks for nature by listening to it—to forests, rivers, hills, and villages as living presences. He reminds us that ecology is inseparable from history, politics, and memory, and that science without ethics forgets what truly matters.
This Sunday evening, as we come together in remembrance, we return to the questions Prof. Madhav Gadgil, the people’s scientist, teaches us to ask.
From Goa and the Western Ghats to across India, his work stands against extraction in the name of progress, and for a democracy rooted in the land and its people.
This tribute meeting is organised by Goa Foundation and the Museum of Goa, not just to honour his life, but to carry forward the responsibility he leaves us with.
