Brief info

Sachin Naik is an Indian printmaker whose practice is deeply rooted in traditional techniques such as woodcut, etching, and lithography. Coming from an agrarian family in Goa, his work reflects the inner journeys of rural life and draws inspiration from the region’s rich folk traditions.

Naik studied at the Goa College of Fine Arts and later pursued a Master’s degree in Printmaking from the University of Hyderabad. His early artistic journey began with crafting Ganesh idols and earning recognition in All-Goa Rangoli competitions, experiences that nurtured his connection to community-based art practices.Emphasizing the enduring relevance of traditional printmaking, Naik often references the “Four M” principles of the medium—Man, Machine, Method, and Material—as central to his artistic philosophy. His dedication to the field earned him a Junior Fellowship from the Government of India.

Sachin Naik has exhibited his work at various platforms, including the Lalit Kala Akademi, Kolkata (2026). He presented his work in the exhibition “Posthumous Dialogues with Francis Newton Souza.”
