Saba Hasan is an Indian contemporary artist based in Goa and New Delhi. Her multidisciplinary practice spans painting, photography, book installations, voice works, and film, often exploring themes of memory, identity, and cultural narratives.
Hasan holds a BA (Honours) in Economics from Delhi University and a Master’s degree in Cultural Anthropology from Syracuse University, New York. She further pursued training in art at the Ceruleum – École d’Arts Visuels in Lausanne, Switzerland, and studied art history at the University of Cambridge, UK.
An active artist since the mid-1990s, Hasan has participated in numerous exhibitions, biennales, photo shows, and film festivals in India and internationally. Her works are part of private and institutional collections across India, the United Kingdom, Switzerland, Sri Lanka, Japan, the Netherlands, the United States, Spain, and France. Among her recent exhibitions is a solo presentation of her book sculptures and multimedia works at the Kiran Nadar Museum of Art (KNMA), New Delhi. Saba Hasan presented her work in the exhibition “Posthumous Dialogues with Francis Newton Souza.”
