Micheal Mareena is an architect and visual artist based in Goa, originally from Tamil Nadu. Growing up in an environment shaped by storytelling and influenced by a father who was a journalist, Mareena developed an early fascination with human narratives and the socio-cultural conditions that define them. Trained in architecture, this foundation informs a spatial sensitivity that extends into her work in photography and visual art.

Her practice centers on documenting India’s cultural diversity, its festivals, traditions, and rituals, as living expressions of memory, identity, and emotion. Expanding beyond photography, Mareena also explores AI-generated visual art as a means to evoke genuine human emotions and reflect socio-political realities through layered, poetic imagery. She is currently developing functional art collectibles inspired by these cultural narratives.

Alongside her artistic practice, Micheal runs a design and branding studio in Goa. She presented her work in the exhibition “Seen/Unseen.”
