Charudatt Pande is an Indian contemporary artist whose work focuses on the inner lives of ordinary people. Through his practice, he seeks to give visibility to individuals and communities that often remain overlooked, particularly migrant labourers whose stories and struggles are rarely represented in mainstream narratives.

Pande’s portraits are marked by empathy and quiet introspection, capturing not only the physical likeness of his subjects but also their emotional and psychological states. Rather than sensationalizing suffering, his artworks emphasize resilience and humanity, inviting viewers to engage with the lived experiences behind widely circulated images of crisis. Through this approach, Charudatt Pande contributes to a broader dialogue on visibility, memory, and the socio-political realities shaping contemporary India. He presented his work in the exhibition “Posthumous Dialogues with Francis Newton Souza.”
