Ārun is a freelance photographer whose practice examines the contemporary forces of development shaping Indian identity, traditional culture, and natural environments. Working primarily in black-and-white medium format, he approaches his subjects with a strong sensitivity to geometry, light, and shadow.

Influenced by photographers such as Lu Nan and Gordon Parks, his work reflects an in-depth engagement with his subjects, often revealing layered narratives through careful observation and unexpected details. His photographic stories are marked by a balance between rigorous study and moments of quiet surprise.Additionally, he maintains a strong interest in archival photographic processes, further informing his practice and approach to image-making. He has exhibited his work in the Cycle Diaries exhibition.
