The Wilderness Within – Biodiversity Conversation and Mindful Gastronomy

Goa’s biodiversity extends far beyond its beaches, thriving within forests, rivers, wetlands, fields, and the many ecosystems that sustain everyday life. In this special MOG Sunday, environmentalist Claude Alvares and Dr Pradip Sarmokadam, Member Secretary of the Goa State Biodiversity Board, will explore the importance of protecting Goa’s ecological heritage and the challenges facing its future.

The morning will conclude with a mindful gastronomy experience led by Chef Sai Sabnis, who will introduce participants to local and foraged monsoon ingredients, wild edibles, and indigenous plants. Together, the session offers a deeper understanding of how biodiversity shapes not only our landscapes but also the food traditions that connect us to place.
