The Takeover of our Tablelands – Goa Foundation

‘The Takeover of Our Tableland’ is inspired by the third chapter of the book Fish Curry and Rice. The program brings together diverse perspectives on the ecologically significant plateaus of the Western Ghats, locally known as the Pathar or Sada lands.

Prof. Janarthanam, a leading authority on the endemic flora of these unique lateritic ecosystems, will speak about their remarkable biodiversity and ecological importance. He will be joined by Arun Ganesh of Amche.in and Padmashri awardee Claude Alvares, founder of the Goa Foundation, who will reflect on the environmental, cultural and developmental challenges facing these fragile landscapes.

The program will also feature a screening of a film by Varad Giri, which offers an intimate exploration of the plateau ecosystem and the life forms that depend on it.
