The Seeds of Self-Reliance | Growing Food, Cultivating Habits
At this MOG Sundays, Claude Alvares of the Goa Foundation joins farmer Nestor Rangel and Yogita Mehra in a conversation about the future of food in Goa. Nestor will share his passion for agriculture, the methods he uses to improve yields, and his long-term aspiration of making Goa more self-sufficient in food. Yogita will speak about sustainability, reconnecting people with farm-grown produce and cultivating healthier food habits that strengthen the bonds within our communities.
The conversation accompanies the sixth chapter of Fish Curry and Rice, exploring agricultural habits in Goa, and invites us to think about the relationship between what we grow, what we eat, and the kind of society we wish to build.
The morning will also offer an opportunity to take home farm produce and seeds from Nestor and Yogita’s farm, alongside a copy of Fish Curry and Rice.
Because food is culture, community, and the foundation of a self-reliant Goa. Join us as we return to the soil.
