Secrets of Particles and the Environment

A talk by Karma Thupten, Director of the Science for Monks and Nuns Foundation, takes place this MOG Sunday. The session introduces Secrets of Particles—a pioneering initiative that begins in 1999 following the encouragement of 14th Dalai Lama. Over 25 years, the program grows from small workshops into a global educational effort integrating modern science into monastic education, with a focus on scientific literacy, leadership, and dialogue between Buddhist philosophy and science.

The session spotlights Secrets of Particles, the third exhibition from the Sager Science Leadership Program. Inspired by The Universe in a Single Atom, it explores the nature of particles through scientific and Buddhist perspectives. The talk illuminates resonances between modern physics and classical Buddhist understandings of atoms and the nature of reality.
