Rescuing A River Breeze

Mrinalini Harchandrai’s poignant work of fiction follows Shirly Quarachim, a Sindhi girl born in Panjim to immigrant parents and raised along the Mandovi, as she undergoes a personal transformation amid the simmering atmosphere leading up to Goa’s annexation, navigating the fluid tides of identity and cultural crossroads.

Mrinalini Harchandrai is a poet and writer. She serves as the former Deputy Editor at Poetry at Sangam, an online literary journal dedicated to poetry and poetry in translation. Her poetry and short stories appear in numerous anthologies and receive recognition in several international awards. Her novel, Rescuing A River Breeze, published by Bloomsbury India, is shortlisted for The Asian Prize for Fiction, longlisted for the UK’s McKitterick Prize, and longlisted for the Green Literature Festival’s Best Book Awards.
