On Hindu Migrants of Rajasthan
This talk brings attention to the lives and experiences of Pakistani Hindu migrant communities settled in regions such as Jodhpur and Barmer. Drawing from over two decades of journalistic work, Parul Abrol shares insights from sustained, on-ground engagement with these communities—offering a rare and nuanced perspective on migration across the India–Pakistan border. The session will explore questions of identity, belonging, and survival, as well as the socio-political conditions that shape these journeys.
Through stories gathered over years of fieldwork, the discussion will highlight the complexities of displacement, the challenges of integration, and the resilience of communities navigating uncertain futures. Moving beyond headlines, this talk offers a deeper understanding of a subject that is often overlooked, while foregrounding the human experiences at the heart of migration narratives in contemporary India.
