MOG SUNDAY – Celebrating National Wildlife Week with Talks, Food and Films
Celebrating National Wildlife Week with talks, food, and films
The Museum of Goa marks National Wildlife Week with a special program that highlights indigenous knowledge, ecological interconnections, and cultural perspectives, driving the need to think about nature and biodiversity intersectionally.
Where Wisdom meets Forest Guardians | 11:30 AM – 1 PM
Whenever science and the arts struggle, it is the wisdom of Indigenous peoples that prevails. Let us learn that from Dr. Purabi Bose, International Fellow, Royal Swedish Academy of Agriculture and Forestry (KSLA), Stockholm. One of her passions is in simplifying forest land science to communicate, using arts, with a diverse audience to connect with Indigenous wisdom.
Lunch Inspired by Nature | 1 PM – 2 PM
A meal that honours the everyday wisdom of food. Cooked slowly, using seasonal vegetables, drawing from the language of sustainability and simplicity. Shreya’s cuisine reflects the “common man’s food” – proletariat, unpretentious, deeply flavourful, and grounded in the rhythms of nature.
Sattu paratha with chokha and amla chutney – INR 300
Rice, dal, aloo bhujia, chokha, amla chutney – INR 350
Sattu sharbat – INR 50
Pre-booking is compulsory
Film Screenings: Roundglass Sustain | 2 PM – 3 PM
Roundglass Sustain is a not-for-profit dedicated to telling powerful, accessible stories about India’s biodiversity through films, photography, writing, and digital resources. These are not distant, romanticised forests. They are our cities’ lungs, our rivers’ guardians, our buffers against climate extremes. Protecting them is an act of conserving wildlife, and of safeguarding our shared future.
Through food, art, and stories, we invite you to learn from those who live close to the land, and reconnect with the stories of the Earth.
