Guardians of Glory: The Legacy of the Maratha Light Infantry

The Museum of the Maratha Light Infantry Regimental Centre captures the legacy of the most decorated regiment in the Indian Army, the Maratha Light Infantry, with a history spanning nearly 255 years.

This session will be led by Brigadier Joydip Mukherjee, a decorated officer commissioned into the Maratha Light Infantry. With over 30 years of distinguished service across varied terrains—mountains, deserts, high altitudes, and amphibious zones, Brigadier Mukherjee brings insight into the regiment’s ethos. He has served as an instructor at the Indian Military Academy, Dehradun, and currently serves as the Commandant of the Maratha Light Infantry Regimental Centre, Belgaum. His awards include the Chief of the Army Staff Commendation Card and the Northern Command Commendation Card.
