Animal Rights in India

The Constitution safeguards animal welfare, making it our fundamental duty to show compassion to all living beings. Acts like abandoning, neglecting, or harming animals, organising fights, or using animals for entertainment are punishable. Protecting their lives and habitats is a legal and moral responsibility.

Dr. Karlette Anne Fernandes, a Veterinary Doctor and Director of Companion Animal Management at Worldwide Veterinary Service. With expertise from India and New Zealand, her work focuses on mitigating human-animal conflict and addressing the issue of homeless animals. Her efforts inspire action toward a more compassionate and humane world.
