A Poetry Night: Remembering Eunice de Souza
Our poetry night is a homage to Eunice de Souza. Deeply influenced by her Goan Catholic roots, she built a remarkable career as a poet, novelist, critic, and professor. She inspired generations of students and writers with her wit, clarity, and fearless voice. Her poetry, known for its honesty, explored themes of identity, gender, and social reality. Her literary legacy continues to shape contemporary Indian writing. Eunice de Souza was the only Indian woman to be included in the Oxford India Anthology of Twelve Modern Indian Poets (1992).
On the occasion of her birth anniversary on 1st august, MOG celebrates her legacy and the art of poetry across diverse themes with 20 different poets.
