Ladies Tailor is a book about Gurdev and his cohort, a group of refugees who traveled east from Pakistan after partition. It is a story of falling apart and coming together. It is also a story of that which was torn asunder and will never be one again – a marriage, a country, a friendship.
Priya Hajela is a fiction writer who has authored Ladies’ Tailor, a novel published by Harper Collins India. She has written and published several short stories and also writes regular lifestyle features for The Daily Guardian, Delhi.
Nirupama is a corporate lawyer who has been in the profession for 25 years and counting. Reading books has been a lifelong habit for her, though her only other connection with the literary world is when author friends and family ask her to review their contracts with agents and publishers.
