Join us for a talk by Dr. M. R. Ramesh Kumar on the topic Weather and Climate of India: Role of Oceans, this Sunday, 16 July, 2017 from 11:00 am at the Museum of Goa.
Dr. M. R. Ramesh Kumar is the Chief Scientist of NIO, Ponda, Goa. His research interests are Air Sea Interaction, Monsoons, Cyclones, Climate Change and Antarctic Oceanography.
He has participated as a member of the Sixth Indian Scientific Expedition to Antarctica in 1986-1987 and also participated in several oceanographic cruises on board the research vessels Gaveshini and Sagar Kanya in different parts of the Arabian Sea, Bay of Bengal and South Indian Ocean. With more than 77 research publications in National and International Journals of Science Citation Index, he also several papers published in proceedings of the National / International Seminar, Conference and Workshops.
Dr. Ramesh was awarded the Dr. N. K. Panikar Memorial Award for obtaining First Rank in M.Sc. Meteorology as well as the Prof. P.R. Pisharoty Memorial Award for the year 2003 for work in the field of Remote Sensing from Cochin University of Science and Technology, Kochi in 1981.
