‘Torrom’ is a log of wood which is used to push the boat into the ocean. The fishermen apply cashew sap to the logs as a lubricant to facilitate easy movement of the boats. Over years, the logs develop wonderful grooves with the movement of the boats. The story of hundreds of launches of fishing boats into the ocean is embedded in torroms.
